Background
In the 2007 legislative session the legislature passed and the governor signed two bills supported by Environment Georgia. Senate Bill 157 by Senator Ross Tolleson (Perry) provides grants to Georgians intersted in increasing the distribution and sale of ethanol and House Bill 186 by Rep. Jim Cole (Forsyth) gives tax breaks to alternative fuel facilities.
We'll continue to advocate for policies that will help support renewable energy and fuels in Georgia and to work with a Georgia based coalition of tree farmers, private sector energy investors, and government regulators to make biopower a reality in our state.
