More than
half of all Georgians live in places where the air is unhealthy to breathe. Pollution
from power plants, cars and trucks is making many Georgians sick, scarring our
city skylines and scenic vistas, and costing our economy billions of dollars in
health care and other costs.
Georgia has made some progress in recent years, including making initial reductions in pollutants from power plants, but more needs to be done. To bring clear skies back to Georgia, Environment Georgia advocates using readily available technology to reduce emissions from existing pollution sources and investing in alternative energy and modes of transit.
