It's time to protect our waterways

The Chattahoochee is only as clean as its upstream tributaries, but two Supreme Court decisions have made it possible for polluters and developers to dump toxic waste into these streams and to pave over our wetlands.

Sign the petition to the right to tell Sens. Chambliss and Isakson to support the Clean Water Restoration Act.

Saving national forests

Thanks to our federation’s work, more than 1.5 million citizens nationwide called on the Clinton administration to protect pristine areas in our national forests, resulting in the Roadless Rule. When the Bush administration attempted to overturn the rule, we worked with governors in seven states to petition to protect their forests.

Dear Sens. Isakson and Chambliss,

I am writing to urge you to support the Clean Water Restoration Act. The Chattahoochee River and the waterways that feed it are crucial to our quality of life, our health, and the environment.

Sadly, developers have used the courts to weaken the Clean Water Act, allowing polluters to dump into some rivers and streams with impunity. Please work to reverse this damage before it is too late.
