Clean Energy for Georgia

We could meet Georgia's growing energy needs with greater efficiency and renewable power. Despite the environmental and economic benefits that more clean power would bring to our state, 10 electric co-ops have announced plans for a new coal plant near Macon.

The Environmental Protection Division (EPD) will ultimately have the power to approve or deny this coal plant.

Take action today by using the form below to sign our petition to EPD Director Dr. Carol Couch, asking for clean energy in Georgia, not another coal plant.

Then ask you family and friends to do the same.

Petition Text:

Dr. Couch

Please do not permit the coal-fired power plant proposed by Power4Georgians in Washington County. Coal power needlessly endangers our environment when we could be increasing energy efficiency and tapping into Georgia's potential for renewable power. Alternatives can provide green jobs for Georgians and increasing our energy efficiency is the cheapest way to boost our energy supply. EPD, as the steward of our state's environment, should deny this plant and insist on alternatives that will improve our air and reduce global warming pollution.
